Communities Keeping Well

Supporting you to live a healthier life

Communities Keeping Well are your GPs, the council’s Public Health team, local voluntary sector organisations and residents working together.

The Communities Keeping Well programme is working with eight communities in Tower Hamlets to prevent diabetes, coronary heart disease and respiratory disease.

Over two years, residents will come together through a series of community events to design and lead activities to support a healthier life. As well as making these neighbourhood healthier places to live, it’s a chance for our community to get their voices heard on health and community life, become health champions and help each other out.

Free resident and VCS led activities across the South East!

As part of the programme, these activities below were funded following successful pitches at a Community Voting Day. Project ideas across the South East were chosen by local residents to support health and wellbeing in neighbourhoods.

65 projects in total have been funded across the borough and 15 of those are in the South East!

An upcoming timetable of activities will be uploaded soon.

Keep an eye out for round 2 of the Community Voting Day. More funding will be available to bring residents project ideas to life! Could you be one of them?

For any questions on the projects or if you’d like to get involved, you can contact Leoca Powell, Communities Keeping Well Project Coordinator on Tel. 07512313033 or email: leoca.powell@nhs.net
